Where Do All the Old Stories Go?

September 28, 2008

Don’t you just love to read new posts on the website? Everyone agrees – updated, fresh content is the best, and websites like ours are constantly changing, with news, notices and interesting stories posted every week. But if you haven’t visited TeamLKS.com before now, or have been away on vacation for a month, don’t worry that you might have missed something important…because it is still here!

We are keeping all of our past content accessible to you on our website. Here are three easy ways to review old stories, or posts, as they are called in the “blogosphere”:

  • At the top of each page on TeamLKS.com is what is called a header, and in the header below the LKS logo are two navigation bars. In the “black belt,” you’ll find links to Master’s Corner, LKS Kids!, School News, etc….Click on one of those, and you’ll be taken to a page that lists all the posts in that category, in chronological order, newest first, oldest last.

  • Over in the right sidebar, you can find the same category shortcuts under Departments.

  • If you prefer to look at posts in ALL the categories, but only during a certain month, in the right sidebar under Archives, click on a link for any of the months you find listed.

Not quite as easy is the Site Map for TeamLKS, which lists all the pages, all the posts, for all time! But you will find older posts from months long ago. You’ll find the link for the Site Map at the bottom right hand corner in the footer.

Don’t forget one more easy way to find content on TeamLKS.com – the search box at the upper right. Type in the word or phrase you want to locate, and click the blue “Go” button. Try it!

Timing is Everything

September 23, 2008

“Timing- Everything in life is about timing. Buy the ticket with the six winning lotto numbers on the wrong day, and you end up with nothing but a piece of paper, instead of becoming an instant millionaire. Jiu-Jitsu is much like life – if your timing is wrong, then even the best and most perfectly executed technique will fail.”

Massive Action Leads to Massive Results

September 1, 2008

Many people talk about all of the plans, dreams, successes and rewards that they are after in life, but often forget that to make those thoughts a reality they will need ACTION. This month’s message is going to discuss how to turn these dreams and goals into a reality. Remember, a goal without an action plan is just a thought.

When planning for success in any aspect of life, we need to do three very important things:

  1. write it down somewhere so you can be reminded of it,
  2. share it with someone (a buddy, spouse or even co-worker) for accountability,
  3. MAKE AN ACTION PLAN ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE FOR IT TO HAPPEN

In our martial arts class we often use the saying, “you can’t manage it if you don’t measure it”. Get your starting point! For example, it’s hard to start a weight loss routine if you don’t know what you weigh. After you’ve determined your starting point, create small short term goals that are easily attainable. This will help you feel successful and in turn build your confidence and desire to keep going. If the goal is too big, it may be discouraging, but INCH BY INCH IS A CINCH. Create a logbook to measure and document the steps you have taken and the results from those actions. Last, but not least, remember to always have a positive attitude. It is easy to see the negatives, but always look for the positive. In the example of weight loss, one pound lost means that you have already completed 1/10th of your ultimate goal. Celebrate that success and continue on that path of action.

Massive action leads to massive results when we are putting in 100 percent effort and when we stick to our plans. GOALS WE SET ARE GOALS WE GET.
